"NATO ATTACK ON THE KOLA PENENSULA"

                   BY ED WINSOR HARPOON BBS#68

DESIGNER NOTES: This scenario uses the GIUK battleset, and
can be played from the NATO side only. A large number of the
Soviet bomber and submarine units are included based on a
percentage. This simulates the Russian reaction to your
mission by diverting units from other missions. Soviet submarine
and surface units have many variable starting points. Bottom
line is, you should be able to play this scenario several times
and face a different opponent every game. Enjoy!

1.0 BACKGROUND: Soviet forces have taken Iceland and Norway.
NATO convoys are taking a pounding in the North Atlantic from
Soviet bombers based in the Kola peninsula. The Kola peninsula
is the largest and best-defended military complex in the world.

2.0 NATO ORDERS: Using assigned forces, you are ordered to
neutralize the Russian Kola peninsula bases.

3.0 INTELLIGENCE BRIEF: Your forces consist of one US carrier
battle group, and a British light carrier in support. No land
based forces can be diverted in support of your mission. There
are no long ranged strike forces based at Keflavik, and the
Soviets are still rebuilding the Norwegian bases. Soviet bomber
regiments will probably be diverted from their convoy strike
roll to attack your battle group once the Norwegian sea is
penetrated. You can also expect attacks from Soviet picket
submarines, and SAGs..

4.0 VICTORY CONDITIONS:
MINIMUM: destroy 5 Soviet bases.
TOTAL: destroy 10 Soviet bases.
